It’s difficult to fathom a whole year has clicked away since I pondered the idea of writing 31 consecutive days on the Old Testament story of Ruth. All last summer I read and asked Father about Ruth and Naomi. I saw glimpses of myself in Naomi - a married woman and mother of two sons. Yet at other times I caught my reflection in the story of Ruth - the outsider desiring to make Naomi’s God her God.
I could feel the heartache of their struggle and the warmth of their devoted friendship. And each day during the month of October 2017, I awoke early to meet Holy Spirit in prayer over these two women while gleaning the Truth of God’s word for me. I typed out the lessons for each day and posted them on my blog as my sleepy eyes became invigorated for the workday ahead.
I did not know a year ago today that I was writing my first book. Perhaps my only book or maybe the first of more. Only my Father knows the number and the details of my days. Either way, I am celebrating the adventure of sharing my devotional books with friends and family and strangers. It’s been the delight of my heart to have something of my story to offer to those who are experiencing a dry season in their lives.
Thank you for celebrating what God has done right along side me! I appreciate each one of you as you read, share, leave encouraging comments, email, support and talk to Jesus about me.
I want to in turn encourage you to turn the eyes of your heart toward Jesus…
