What a winding adventurous path I've traveled this year. At times, the terrain has been rough, but my Good Shepherd is in the lead so I have no reason to fear. He's continually holding out His hand and giving assuring nods. Good Shepherd, He gently coaxes me, "Come, follow Me. You can trust Me."
Along the way, He has many times corrected me with the compassion in His eyes or a gentle nudge of conviction from Holy Spirit. The reminder over this year has been to reflect on my one word for this year - obedience.
What a year! Full of hard places I never thought I could navigate, which as I reflect back have produced an unspeakable JOY.
a published book with my name on it
maintain a website
social media marketing
two women’s retreats
stepping out of my secure job
learning to re-upholster, cane and weave furniture
dream about a business/ministry house - Cheer House
All of this while walking side by side with my dear STFM along the scary, unknown & painful path of PD. Yet, with all the challenges of his uncooperative body, we have learned to laugh hard and love deeply. And even in the middle of the rough terrain, we have experienced indescribable JOY!
With eyes on Jesus I feel I am beginning to shine for Him with His own radiance. There’s nothing of my own flesh which would shine with the glory of His majesty. It has to be Christ in me reflecting His own glory in His presence in my life. Jesus is the faithful and true One. He is good and His steadfast love endures forever.
And He is true to His promises. Turning our faces to gaze upon Him was His idea…
Gaze upon him, join your life with his, and joy will come.
Your faces will glisten with glory.
You’ll never wear that shame-face again. Psalm 34:5 TPT
I hope you’ll give this word of Truth a try. I hope you will ask Him about His word and about His presence with you. I hope you will take Him at His word and ponder with Him in your own heart. Oh I can’t wait to find out what kind of adventure Good Shepherd has for you!!
What are some of your significant reflections from 2018?
This is our One Word Ponder this week... reflect. Please, you’re invited to ponder along with Jesus and this one word ~reflect~
I hope you’ll share a bit about your journey with Jesus this year. It doesn’t have to be finished or perfect. You don’t have to know all the answers or see your situation fully complete and tied in a pretty bow. That’s not the journey I am living. So no expectations except to link arms in the middle of the messy and encourage one another to turn our eyes to Jesus knowing that His glory will make our faces to shine His Light in a dark and messy world.
For His Glory… Eyes on Jesus and Shine,
